About Us

Dr. Doaa El-Khouly has 27 years of experience in veterinary medicine, government service, and fieldwork. She currently serves as a Senior Veterinarian at LFRPDA and is a doctoral researcher in Microbiology at Cairo University. She specializes in diagnosing bacterial, viral, and fungal fish diseases, veterinary laboratory quality systems (ISO), and biosecurity management. She was a key member of the JICA-LFRPDA project and contributed to launching the Egy-GAP initiative for Good Aquaculture Practices in Egypt with Japanese experts.

Dr. Amany Ahmed Mohamed is General Manager of Veterinary Affairs at LFRPDA, with extensive fisheries and aquaculture management experience. She previously led Import & Export, Lake, Research, and Fish Farm departments at GAFRD and supervised fisheries and government farms across several governorates. She holds a PhD in Microbiology from Cairo University’s Faculty of Veterinary Medicine, with extensive training in aquaculture, aquatic animal diseases, and export controls. She has participated in international conferences and programs organized by FAO, FFRC, and other institutions on fisheries development, disease surveillance, and aquatic health.

Dr. Walaa Magdy is a quality and certification expert with over 15 years of experience in quality management, conformity assessment, certification systems, laboratory accreditation, food safety, aquaculture, and fisheries. She currently serves as Director of the EGY-GAP Certification Unit, supporting the development and implementation of certification systems for good practices, food safety, traceability, and sustainable production. She has extensive expertise in international standards, including ISO/IEC 17065, ISO/IEC 17025, ISO 9001, ISO 14001, ISO 45001, and ISO/IEC 17020, and has contributed to national and international projects with FAO, JICA, and ICCAT. Her expertise covers auditing, certification, HACCP, traceability, quality systems, and capacity building, enabling her to support organizations and producers in achieving internationally recognized quality and certification requirements.

She holds a Master’s degree and a Postgraduate Diploma in Microbiology and Biochemistry, supported by extensive practical experience in laboratory analysis and environmental monitoring. Her auditing approach focuses on objective, evidence-based assessment, risk identification, conformity, and ensuring that aquaculture practices consistently meet safety and quality requirements. Her goal is to strengthen Egyptian aquaculture through improved food safety, traceability, responsible practices, and alignment with national and international market standards.
