Delete Your Account

You can delete your EgyGAP account at any time, either directly in the app or by asking our support team. This page explains both options and what happens to your data.

Delete your account in the app

  1. Open the EgyGAP app and sign in.
  2. Go to Profile.
  3. Tap Delete account.
  4. Enter your password to confirm the deletion.

Once confirmed, your account is closed, you are signed out, and you can no longer sign in with it.

Request deletion by email

If you can't use the app, email our support team at info@example.com with the subject "Account deletion request". Send it from the email address registered on your account and include your full name and registered phone number.

We will verify that the request comes from the account owner and complete it within 30 days, then confirm by email.

Data that is deleted

When your account is deleted, we delete the following personal data:

  • Your name
  • Your email address
  • Your phone number
  • Your profile photo
  • Device tokens used to send you push notifications
  • Your notification preferences

Data that is retained, and why

EgyGAP is a regulatory certification program for fish farms. The following records are kept after your account is deleted:

  • Certification applications
  • Issued certificates
  • Payment records
  • Inspection and audit records
  • A log entry recording that the account was deleted, kept for audit purposes

These are official certification records. They must be kept so that issued certificates can still be verified and to meet regulatory, audit and financial record-keeping obligations. They are no longer accessible through your account and are not used for marketing.

Retention period

Personal data listed above is deleted when your request is processed. Retained certification, payment and inspection records are kept only for as long as the applicable regulations require, and are then deleted.
